Our team exists to work with people to start-up and grow businesses and social enterprises which thrive.

Portobello Business Centre (PBC) is an independent social enterprise that operates as a not-for-profit organisation, based in West London.

As a client, this means that you benefit from the income we generate – whatever the source. This includes contracts we hold, sponsorships we receive, or fee-paying clients we’ve helped in the past (including any contribution you may make); it is all channelled into providing support for clients just like you, helping them to achieve their goals.

We offer and deliver one-to-one advice, training courses, seminars, workshops, business consultancy, and networking opportunities. We also provide advice on accessing external finance for London-based businesses.

We exist simply to help people start-up, grow, and expand their businesses, to assist them in realising their full potential through the provision of affordable, high-quality, independent, and confidential support delivered by an innovative and professional team.

We are nationally recognised as a leading quality provider of professional enterprise support services and have provided support and assistance to many hundreds of businesses in our local community and across London for over 25 years.

As a result of the support of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, businesses located in as well as residents of the Borough may be eligible to fully-subsidised support thanks to the Council’s contribution.

We know that choosing to start-up a new business is one of the most important decisions our clients will make in their life.

We are friendly, determined, and committed to helping you enter the business world and thrive. We are here to help you succeed.

Diversity is part of who we are.

Inclusion is what we do.

We believe that diversity unlocks innovation and drives creativity within a team.

We value both inherent and acquired diversity where everyone’s voice is heard and ideas are freely exchanged to achieve better results for the organisation and the community we serve.  We place great value on the feedback and engagement we receive from the diverse community we work with, which allows us to deliver services in ways that, informatively and co-operatively, meets their needs.  This also enables the community to be involved in a process which has a direct impact on them and their businesses.

We know through experience that different ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds create a stronger, more dynamic, and more creative work environment, as well as an organisation that is in tune with its local community.

We would really love to hear from you; please give us your feedback or join as a volunteer and become part of the PBC team.
