Alma Yoga – Susy Galante

Susy Galante is a yoga teacher. She moved to London in August and she started a Yoga Teacher Training course in September. She decided to turn the page and chase a dream: teaching yoga after 10 years of practice. The training was scheduled to finish in December and her concern was about starting a new business in a new country.

A friend of her suggested she has a look on the internet for job centres supporting new businesses and she came across the PBC website. She booked an appointment with an advisor who helped her understand her goals and what to do to make things work. “He gave me some very useful advice, he pushed me to make my dream come true and he also gave me “homework” to do. I worked a lot in a very short time: creating a business plan, a website, flyers promoting my class, business cards, social networks and more. When we met again in January I had all the homework done and few contacts on board.”

In January, she also attended PBC’s Start-Up Business Course which she found really helpful. “The PBC gave me some tools to monitor my business and now I can’t go on without them. I also saw their accountant at the end of January, which really put me on the right track.”

Officially she started her business on 18th January, a month after of her graduation date.

“Without PBC’s guide, it would have been really hard for me to develop my business in such a short space of time. They are very nice people, friendly, open-minded and ready to help you make your business successful. For me, an Italian girl jumping into a new country, such a professional approach together with kindness was very much appreciated.

The overall experience was so really good that I will keep in contact with the PBC for new courses, workshops and consulting. I strongly recommend you contact the PBC if you are thinking about starting a new business!”

She has a few classes running during the week and she expected it to grow. People enjoy her teaching and her goal is to have her students leave each class feeling fresh and renewed.

She collaborates with the University of Westminster and with Yoga London (the school she graduated). She loves her job, she loves what she does. She has been practising yoga since 2007 and yoga is not only on the mat, but is present in everyday life for her.

“Yoga surrounds every aspect of your life, giving you the chance to progress in your journey. The Power of Yoga is that it changes the way you see the world.”
