NEWS RELEASE

Your chance to make a lasting difference to the community devastated by the Grenfell disaster?

People with a range of business experience and skills are being urged to join the Board of Portobello Business Centre, a not-for-profit enterprise that is at the forefront of supporting the community and businesses that continue to be adversely affected by the Grenfell tragedy.

The search is on for a new Chair and a number of committed Non-Executive Directors who can help lead this BEIS approved Enterprise Agency and shape the important work that it delivers.

“Our work is truly inspiring, empowering some of the most marginalised local people into enterprise as well as fostering businesses in our deprived corners of London,” enthuses current Chair, Stephen Hoier, who is stepping down after 7 years at the helm. “It has been hugely rewarding being able to put my years of experience to good use and hope others will want to do the same and be part of something so worthwhile.”

Over the last two years in the aftermath of the tragedy, its award winning work has attracted both local and national recognition with PBC supporting over 45 businesses to overcome the fall-out from the disaster. It is now focused on rebuilding the local economy and ensuring that all local residents and businesses can thrive.

Application is via CV and covering letter sent to recruitment@pbc.co.uk with closing date for applications Tuesday 27 August 2019 at 10.00 am
